m. oncol. Adenocarcinoma de células claras que se desarrolla a partir del tejido epitelial renal. Las manifestaciones más habituales son el dolor lumbar, hematuria, hipertensión y en ocasiones fiebre. El tabaco y el mal uso de ciertos medicamentos contra el dolor pueden considerarse factores de riesgo. El tratamiento más adecuado es el quirúrgico, aunque también se emplea la quimioterapia, la radioterapia, la terapia biológica, la terapia dirigida y el trasplante de células madre.

Neoplasia maligna del parénquima o la pelvis renales. Los factores asociados a una mayor frecuencia del tumor son la exposición a hidrocarburos aromáticos o al humo del tabaco y el consumo de medicamentos con fenacetina. Sus síntomas característicos son hematuria, dolor en el flanco, fiebre y masa palpable.
